Background: The aim of APACE (Advantageous Predictors of Acute Coronary Syndrome Evaluation Study) is to test if the use of meticulous patient history, digital and analogue ECG parameter and novel biomarkers (including novel, sensitive and high-sensitive cardiac troponin I and T, Copeptin, myeloperoxydase, Endothelin) can provide a faster detection or exclusion of acute myocardial infarction in patients presenting with acute chest pain to the emergency department. Trial Registration No: NCT00470587 (clinicaltrials.gov) Link Trial Status: Enrollment stopped (n>9000 patients since 2006), ongoing data analysis & publishing Enrolling Centers: Switzerland Worldwide: Cantonal Hospital Liestal Czech Republic: Brno University Hospital Basel Poland: Zabrze University Hospital Zürich Spain: Hospital Clinico San Carlos, Madrid Hospital Limmatal Hospital Clinic, Barcelona Kantonsspital Baselland Hospital del Mar, Barcelona Core Study Team: Important Publications: (click on links to see abstracts)
